Gangala is a community situated 10 kilometers east of Malawi’s commercial capital, Blantyre. What makes this community unique is that it is home to majority of the city’s blind beggars, who are mostly old.

Although every child has the right to remain in school until they gain enough skills and knowledge to get employed or employ themselves, blind beggars' children are an exception. In this project, I focus on the plight of the children belonging to families headed by blind people.

They are born and destined for poverty because their situation doesn’t allow them to have certain rights including education.' 10 year old Dimingu Nyampenza is one of the many children of Gangala who have no chance of an education because they have to guide their parents to the street where they beg money for survival.
