Claire Barnett is a filmmaker from Little Rock, Arkansas. Her stories focus on the complicated inner world of people from the American South. After receiving her BFA in Film from the University of Central Arkansas in 2021, she began studying at NYU Tisch towards her MFA in Film. While a film student in Little Rock, she wrote and directed a number of films, as well as working as the Production Designer on many short film and LLEGO HOY, a southern feature film about a Mexican Mother's journey of reconnecting with her son and smuggling him into the States, set to be released in 2022.

Claire's short film SUSAN AND LESLIE was an Official Selection of Hot Springs Documentary Festival (2022), New Orleans Film Festival (2022), Tallgrass Film Festival (2022), and Arkansas Cinema Society's Filmland Festival (2022). Her short film LULLABY was an Official Selection of Bentonville Film Festival (2021), Arkansas Cinema Society Filmland Festival (2020) Winner of Best director, Best Narrative Short Film, and Official Selection of the UCA Film Festival (2020). Her short film MOTH (2021) was the Official Selection of New York No Limits Film Festival (2021) and Arkansas Cinema Society Filmland Festival (2022). Claire is now developing her new short HOLY WATER, a coming-of-age story set to shoot this November in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Claire is now a directing MFA Candidate and Tisch Scholar at New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film & Television Graduate Film.
