In response to decades of a corrupt political system, of which failures increased after hurricane María and the governor's lack of responsibility, during the summer of 2019 Puerto Ricans came together and started the multi generational and nonpartisan #RickyRenuncia movement demanding the governor's immediate resignation. A few weeks after some pacific and other more violent protests, this union for action achieved it's primary goal resulting in Ricardo Roselló's resignment. I feel extremely grateful for being able to experience and document such a powerful historical event. The beautiful combination of fury, union and determination Puerto Ricans transmitted while taking over the streets was something really worth sharing with the World.
