About

 artist, born 1954, Cleveland, Ohio

I am retired from a career spent largely in the music industry and the organizational development field.

I create images based in photographs, computing power, and an experimental mindset,

My creative graphical endeavors started when I taught myself graphic design after a friend gave me a Macintosh 128k computer in 1984.

Experimental Photographer/Digital Artist 2003-ongoing (artiststephencalhoun.com)
Graphic, Web Design 1985-ongoing
Painter 1992-2002
Musician/Composer 1973-2015 recording as Kamelmauze, pedal & lap steel guitars, sound design, synthesizers (nine recordings released by Duty Free Records/Bandcamp)

In addition, since 1996, I have been a designer of experiential learning tools that leverage adult learning theory and provide processes aimed to realize transformative learning. (squareONE:experiential toolmakers)

Research: serendipity in adult development / experiential learning theory. (global partner of Experience-based Learning Systems.)

Follow the perfume, not the tracks! (Sufi Shams of Tabrizk)

Everything I do between facilitation in the fields of organizational and adult development, music, and visual art is for the sake of building a prospect for experiential learning.

My art's aim is to grip the viewer, and then inspire the viewer to seek their own unique discoveries in each piece. The pieces present deep opportunities for visual serendipity by drawing the viewer into experiential, insightful, seeking. Each piece captures an experimental result. The viewer's unique encounter and seeking completes the experiment.

My art reflects long time concerns about transformation and development, These are woven into everything I play around with today, yesterday, and tomorrow.

(My artworks have been selected to be represented by The Gallery At Gray's in Cleveland, and a handful of private advisories, incuding Oh Good Party, and EMERGART.)
