About
Cristian Caceres is a documentary photographer and filmmaker born in Lima, Peru (April 29, 1996). Focusing on social conflicts and endangered minorities, they have covered LGBTQ+  communities in Lima, the Villareal student occupation, and several social movements in Peru, including the “No a Keiko” demonstrations. In 2016, they taught free photo workshops in emerging communities as part of the “Piquete Fotografico” Peruvian Photo Collective, and led workshops for the “My Canon Experience” campaign in Lima and Cuzco. That same year they participated in collective exhibitions in the “Anti-Fil” counter-cultural art and literature festivals in Lima. In 2017, they won a scholarship for the one-year Documentary and Visual Storytelling program at the International Center of Photography in New York. Cristian is currently based in Brooklyn, New York, working on a documentary film about abuses committed against the homeless.
