Baylee Brown-Proffitt

Born on April 22, 1997, Baylee is a true Taurus: hardworking, reliable, and very, VERY headstrong. Originally from Crossville, TN, she moved around often as a kid and has lived all over the country. From Olympia, WA to New York City - where she currently studies Film at NYU - she learned to find moments of intrigue wherever she went and thrived on absorbing the lives and stories of people around her. Now, however, she’s turned her focus inward to discover the stories that have always been within her - generationally, historically, and culturally. As Greta Gerwig said, “Nothing in the movie literally happened in my life, but it has a core of truth that resonates with what I know.” What’s most important to Baylee is mining truth through a fierce reckoning and exploration of her world, in order to weave dramatic stories that are relatable because of, not in spite of, their specificity.
