2019: My Year In Review

I wanted to take some time to look back on my year 2019. This one was particularly interesting and allowed me to get out of my comfort zone.

February - March :
The year began with an exhibition. My first report on Nepalese honey hunters was exhibited at the House of Sustainable Development in Montreal. I had the opportunity to speak in front of 200 people, a first for me.

Two days later, I undertook a trip to South India which allowed me to produce the first chapter of my long-term project on martial arts.

June - August :
My summer was dedicated to working for the daily newspaper Le Devoir. Being a press photographer was a very formative experience. I'm happy to have had this incredible opportunity. I will of course continue to collaborate with Le Devoir in 2020.

October:
October was by far the most intense month for me physically, emotionally and career-wise. First of all I was finishing my work for the NGO Ceci in Tanzania. As soon as I got home, I headed to New York State to attend the 32nd edition of the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop. After these 4 days of workshops with no more than 4 hours of sleep, I headed to Chicoutimi, Quebec. Thirteen hours by car later, I had the chance to see my project on the Kalaripayattu exposed at the Zoom Saguenay festival. This festival was an opportunity for me to defend my project during the first session of 2020 at the Mentor Award.

December:
December ended with the best news possible. I have just learned that I am a recipient of the Fonds québécois en journalisme internationale. Thanks to this fund, I will be able to carry out the most ambitious project of my young career... To be continued!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish a happy new year to all those who support me. Thanks again!
