100cameras Snapshot Project: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

I have an amazing opportunity to teach photography and storytelling to youth in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This collaboration between the non-profit 100cameras and CoFondation (French artist JR's non-profit) will directly benefit the youth at Casa Amarela (a community youth center) in Rio. Using the 100cameras curriculum, I will teach over a month at Morro da ProvidÃªncia, and act as a facilitator to foster creativity and learning. I already spent time in the neighborhood shooting photos during a workshop with David Alan Harvey in 2014. The kids in ProvidÃªncia love to learn, and photography is such an awesome bridge to personal growth and helping the community. The 100cameras model gives youth the chance to raise funds through their photography for the community they live in. It is a win-win project. But I won't be able to do this alone: I need your help!
