HUG ROOM
This innovative structure is designed by the Reano Sport Promotion, that was used to produce hot-air balloons and inflatables for fairs and sporting events and, in Covid times, has reinvented itself with the hug room, to let relatives hug safely.
It is used in hospitals and elders retirement home, to enable people to hug their beloved ones.
Too many elders have died due to Covid in the hospices, specially in northern Italy, so the restrictions on meetings with relatives became very strict. For example, in the retirement home of S. Maria Al Getsemani, the only possible meetings, were throughout the window, from the street. In the hug inflatable room, they can finally touch and feel again their relatives.
An original attempt to bridge the lack of contact and hugging, which is causing a serious increase of depression among the elderly. A safe and surreal way to remain close.
