In October 2019 the country was paralyzed and a content discontent was felt in the streets. Led by the indigenous people, social mobilizations began to gather in the capital to reject the execution of decree 883, imposed as an economic measure by the government, which basically punished the economy of the most popular class. After more than 10 years, the streets heat up again and we find this scene of protest again, together with the replica charged of repression by the State and its control devices.

Among all that chaos, the struggle and resistance are reflected in the faces and elements that set a scenario configured by the social outbreak of the people. Either at night and in the day, the moments of silence allowed us to see how the sensations of effort and loss were mixed with the cold and smoke of a national strike that surprised an entire Ecuadorian people who are no longer used to it.

This first approach started from the "news" coverage that an event like this demands, where the images that most permeate the retina are also a visual explosion that gives you immediate readings, but this time the search focuses on symbolic relationships between elements that make up those moments of tension, which surround the social upheaval of a people and which are generally diluted from a denotative reading of what happened.
