César Andrade - Cold Water Swimmer
Andrade said that he swims in cold water to improve his physical and mental health. He mentioned that a lot of people battle with impostor syndrome in their everyday lives. Swimming in cold water removes those feelings - and gives him the confidence to overcome fear.
“I want to feel harmony with the universe… and feel alive,” he said. “self-doubt is our worst enemy.”

The story behind the photos:
I normally swim or surf in the ocean every day. I always carry a small, toy point and shoot film camera with me when I go out to the water. That day, the waves were not that great, so I swam. The beach was empty because of the cold temperature. I wear a 6mm wetsuit with boots, hood, and gloves in cold water. That day the temperature was nearly 48° F. The water temperature displayed nearly the same ~ 46°F. No wind. After I completed my swim, I saw a man walking toward the rocks. He began changing his clothes and my curiosity struck...
