In between September and December of 2020, I was commissioned by Aperture Foundation and FujiFilm to work on a story about the concept of 'tomorrow.' While developing a photo essay focused on the victims of the Chilean social revolution and their families, I was also able to cover the ongoing protests as the background on this pivotal point in the history of Chile, when a referendum to change the constitution inherited by the dictator Augusto Pinochet, was finally approved in October 25th of 2020.

Since the protests started on October 18th of 2019, more than 42 people have died on circumstances related to the protests, over 400 people have suffered some ocular trauma by gunshots fired by the police, more than 1500 have claimed tortures or vexations, and over 3000 people are still incarcerated for protesting, waiting for a trial.

The government denies that Chile has violated any human rights and that there are no political prisoners.
