     Austin studied film and television production at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he received his B.F.A. while also receiving his minor in Child Psychology. Austin got his start directing and writing plays, and in 2015 directed/wrote an adaptation of Raymond Carver’s “What we talk about when we talk about love” which was accepted into the Vailima Literary Magazine for “best new play.”

     In 2016, Austin completed his animated short film, Worms, which was nominated for the “best-animated comedy” at the NYU Animation Festival. In the very same year Austin’s film, Birthday Party (Nobody Came) made it into NFFTY (National Film Festival for Talented Youth) in their “Musical Masterpiece” category. His last film "Molly Robber" which he Co-Directed with Zach Visvikis, is currently out to festivals and has received nominations for Best Film & Screenwriting at NYU's First Run Film Festival. Together, Austin and Zach have produced, written, and directed sketches and music videos that have received over 1.2 million views on YouTube.

     Along with directing short films, Austin has also worked in the film industry on a number of well-known projects such as Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, Michael Gracey’s The Greatest Showman, and a number of commercials for Goodyear Footwear and LG Smartphone.
