Notes from my diary: When Gabo was born, he was in the NICU for 3 days. I decided that I wanted to breastfeed but that entailed that for the next 78 hours, we had to be there with him non-stop (no sleep). We were there with Gabo. I breastfed for 30 minutes, and Graham did skin to skin for the following 30 minutes. We alternated for 78 hours. Graham never left my side. We were exhausted but determined. The doctors were so supportive—and really respected our wishes to keep everything as simple as possible. We truly believed Gabo would recover on his own, and he did. He breastfed for a year—which was amazing! So, I took this photo on Day 2—during one of the skin-to-skin sessions. Gabo was never left alone. It was amazing- to some doctors, it was a miracle.) I am forever grateful to Graham for his complete dedication to Gabriel and selfless love! Eclosión crepuscular (blooming twilight ) exhausted but resilient. Life of a mom launching a startup.
