Notes from my diary: Home and exhausted. As a mom with a startup, I have to travel a lot sometimes. The amount of hours you put into a startup is unbelievable. For years, we worked from 8 am to 2 am, day after day without weekends, and all we knew was failing forward. Purpose kept us moving forward but I would be lying if I didn't admit how challenging the journey is both mentally, emotionally and physically. I have recently learned that only 4% of women entrepreneurs receive funding support from VCs, and that number drops to .4% if she is Hispanic or of color. So, I am questioning whether fundraising is even a possibility for me these days. It's exhausting to think that we need to continue on our own but it may be the only option we have. These days is when you know who your real friends are, and you quietly develop a sense of gratitude towards your family that is unparalleled to anything I have experienced or felt before. Family above all is becoming my new north, and after letting go of everything, and practically having to start again so many times, but especially after the D day, I am learning to truly value the meaning of loyalty, kindness, gratitude, acceptance, love, and forgiveness. 😍 Eclosión crepuscular (blooming twilight ) exhausted but resilient. Life of a mom launching a startup.
