Today, 70% of visual journalists and storytellers worldwide are freelancers looking for equal and merit-based career opportunities. The current systems that power the marketplace make it really difficult for the majority of freelancers to access the private networks and job market. As a result, most freelance visual journalists and storytellers struggle to make a sustainable living in a billion dollar industry.

Visura is re-envisioning the marketplace for visual content. We work to build systems that foster sustainability, inclusivity, professional development, and media literacy. One of our main goals is to empower the freelance international community of visual journalists and storytellers with tools and resources.

Visura is delighted to announce a fund to support freelance visual journalists, photojournalists, photographers, filmmakers, and storytellers.

This fund will continue to evolve and expand throughout the years with the support of our partners. The goal is to elevate media literacy by supporting professional freelance visual storytellers worldwide working in visual media and journalism, including but not limited to photography, photojournalism, visual journalism, visual storytelling, short film, fine art, VR/AI, mixed-media, and multimedia.

See below for current opportunities.

We're thrilled to see and support your work!
