NYEGE NYEGE : THE URGE TO DANCE
Since 2015, the Nyege Nyege festival has been deploying its dance floors every year along the sources of the Nile in the city of Jinja, in Uganda. Gradually becoming a benchmark in the electronic music world, the event brought together 12,000 visitors and more than 150 artists from all over the world in 2019. The rest of the year, the label Nyege Nyege Tapes and its sub-label Hakuna Kulala are based in Kampala at the Nyege Nyege Studio, where producers, DJs and rappers live and create, all pioneers and actors of a bubbling African electronic scene.
