When I was a kid, a family friend had an orange manual Jeep and we rode in it without wearing seatbelts and no top--just bunch of kids piled up in the orange Jeep going places. The adult with us was not concerned with our safety--or perhaps he was concerned but the threshold of his concern did not reach un-belted kids in a Jeep with no top on... We did have a roll bar though.

SO fast forward many years and I find myself in Los Angeles in the early 1990s and was introduced once again the Jeep pictured above. A girl friend of mine at the time owned this Jeep and had it shipped from Chicago to Los Angeles. It was a perfect vehicle for LA and it was a lot fun driving it, specially with no doors!
