At the beginning of the 15th century more specific aroun 1410, arose the Boxmeer-Holy Blood Procession. The tradition recovers taht a priest doubted the conversion of bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ. Immediately blood sparkled over the cup and a drip of blood remained left on the corporale (white) linen after the priest recognised his error. This white linen has been keptin the old silver reliquary and is exposed each year during the Boxmeer Procession.
