The killing of George Floyd on May 25th, 2020 re-energized a movement. That movement is a new civil rights movement demanding changes to a country grounded in systemic racism. The new rallying cries of the people in the movement have been echoing in the streets of New York City since the week Mr. Floyd was killed. There has been daily rallies and marches to call forth for major cultural and political change in America. The steadfast devotion of the organizers and participants to change 'the system' and all structures supporting it is unyielding. This historic movement, and the stories continue. 'Courage in Public' is one of many stories that are being told about the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement within New York City.
