"Man is the only animal that nature has given consciousness, paradoxically, the man is not aware of Nature"  Erich Fromm

In 1991 I made three trips in solitary , I walked in each one 30 km. and overnight in the Sierra de las Minas (Natural Maya Biosphere Reserve) as part of a particular photographic project to honor her.

My photographic project was present at the end of that same year at a ceremony Mountaineering Association of Guatemala, receiving Carlos Mendez (Ranger of Sierra de las Minas who has survived two attacks in which they killed his son).

Each image explore and capture of Nature his exuberance and beauty, its veils of mist and the variety of moss beds, among others.

After 24 years I discovered that each photograph showed me also: life and death in the same image, with its tall and leafy trees beside their fallen trunks, its green moss, and the characteristic color of the dry leaves.

But he had to spend time to make it happen.

"With nature you have to walk slowly if you want to get something out of it" J.W. Goethe

Somehow, photographs have become symbols of inaccessible and beautiful deep truths of nature.

"The depth of his secrets is incalculable and precisely what constitutes unaffordable after its greatest charm" Goethe

The photography project of the Sierra de las Minas with its classical photography, has become a mysterious symbol of everything that happens in nature and inside of me.

In contrast , I see the philosophy of the world today that allows nothing matures.
