This series is a view of Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, between 2015 and 2017. The images were made with a motivation to connect, understand even participate in unfamiliar systems. I ask now when the camera is the appropriate tool for such endeavors. I hope that the images may become a small resource simply stating how a community that looks like this is seen by someone that looks like me. A view that is at times curious, joyous, longing, problematic and confused.
