Oct 20, Muammar Gaddafi who ruled Libya with a dictatorial grip for 42 years was killed by gunshot and Libya's rebel movement for about 8 months finally came to an end.

In Libya, many young untrained civilians such as high school students, university students, jobless graduates, laborers and unemployed who had never used weapon before, had armed with gun in the early stage of the uprising and engaged in the armed conflict against Gaddafi loyalist forces. They fought for the freedom from oppression, surveillance and censorship under Gaddafi dictatorship.

Estimated 50,000 people have been killed since the beginning of Libya's uprising to oust Muammar Gaddafi. In Misrata and Zlitan, which are one of the heaviest battlefields against Gaddafi forces, it is said that between 15,000 and 17,000 had been killed. In addition, many people have been seriously injured, such as lost their arms and  legs in the battle, and have been struggling for rehabilitation in order to regain normal lives..

The democratic road map of  Libya after Gaddafi's era have been attracting attentions from the whole world, but there are many problems to be solved such as disarmament of rebels, internal strife and political power struggle among National Transition Council. And it has been suggested that the country's confusion would be deepened due to various factors in conflicts such as international interests over its abundant resources.

However, young people have great dream for the new era without Gaddafi they had never experienced. The Libya's new era is dawning now with the freedom which young people were yearning for even at the risk of their lives.
