This series is an interpretative portrayal of Inukjuak, a small community of Inuit in the Nunavik region of Quebec, Canada. We say Inuk for one person and Inuit for two or more. The Inuit community settled in this inhospitable area more than a thousand years ago. Today, they struggle between their traditional ways of living and modernity. I arrived in the community on the 21 of August 2016. it is not easy as an "Qallunak" (white men) to be accepted in a place where trust is establish through long knowledge of the person. So I begin with the ones who were the most interested at knowing who I am, the kids. They are curious and board you without any prejudice or fears. You have to be honest with them because, first thing they do after talking to you is going back home and telling your story to the rest of the family. Inukjuak mean great human in English.
