Postcards from Egypt is a series of photographs realized between the end of 2012 and the
beginning of 2013 in and around the cities of Cairo and Luxor.

When one thinks of postcards from the countries they’ve visited, they think of something iconic;
perfected memories of the best places they’ve been. Postcards are easily interpretable images of
monuments, landscapes and smiling people– images that simplify and reduce the complexity of
a culture.

Postcards from Egypt is a project which aims to play with the standardized notion of the postcard
and to challenge the viewer with a different type of imagery, one that induces questions rather
than offering answers.
