About

I am a dynamic award winning documentary filmmaker and photojournalist with a wide experience in the MENA region, Africa, North America, and Europe.

My work concentrates on history, heritage and post conflict recovery, and is based on trust, understanding and honesty with the subjects of my films and photographic project.

I have more than ten years of expertise and knowledge in generating ideas, obtaining funding and shooting, producing and editing intimate and unique films.

I have developed and directed a number of commissions. My film portfolio consists of four feature length documentary films, ‘Cinema in Sudan: conversations with Gadalla Gubara (52’); ‘Closer to Home, the restoration of Leighton House Museum (55’); The Jews and the longest kiss in history (80’). Recently I have been commissioned by the British Council to produce a new film, ‘Our Bright Stars’ (45’) about South Sudan and the process of nation-building. This exclusive body of work was shown during the London 2012 Festival, the culmination of the Cultural Olympiad.

I have achieved excellent results while directing and shooting documentaries in a variety of challenging environments, including Sudan and South Sudan and, in complete contrast, have filmed a variety of specialists during the restoration of Leighton House Museum in London.
