About

As a young man, William King’s freelance studio photography earned him numerous creative awards from various publications and design groups. Based in NewYork City, King had worked on national ad campaigns, and as a still photographer on TV and film production for such clients as Irish Spring Soap, Movado Watch, Coke, Diet Pepsi, American Express to name a few.

In 1990 King’s son was born, it took King several years to define his son’s disability. King stopped working as a photographer and attended Brooklyn College where he obtained Masters in Early Childhood Education. From 2006 through 2013 William thought early childhood project based special education technology, when King turned 65years old, he retired from the NYCDOE.

In an attempt to reinvent himself, King attended the Masters of Professional Studies in Digital Photography at SVA in NYC, graduating from the program in August of 2015. King’s documentary photography draws its inspiration from years of production still photography, a passion for story telling, and Red Hook Brooklyn. King has been able to build upon his creative skills as a photographer while earning his Master of Professional Studies in Digital Photography degree from New York’s prestigious School of Visual Arts. William plans on pursuing photography and teaching, intertwining digital photography with education.
