Youth for free activity are pictures and information gathered from an anarchistic youth house, as colloquially called UFFA. The house is located on the occupied plot in Innherredsveien 69C a stone's throw away from Trondheim city center, Norway.

There pictures are an documentation of the activity in the house over a two year period. The house was destroyed by a fire in 2010, and it is the process of rebuilding this story follows.

Conversations with the punk kids on UFFA has given a deeper understanding of what this house represents to big group of kids in the area. What drives the youth is the idea of creating their own society, where they shape the values that are important to them. The values that they can not find elsewhere in society. It is about doing it themselves, to show that they can manage their own youth house without meddling from authority.

On UFFA, big and small decisions is taken inn meetings where everyone can have their say. The operation is done by those who are active and the youth have to put in the work on the house if they want to reside there.

The activity on the house varies. In some of the generations it is the political engagement that is most important. Others have their focus on creating, both music and otherwise. Punk music is the biggest product that is made on UFFA and the political current lies to the political left.

The importance of this project lies in the antithesis of a possible growing indifference and passive attitude to political issues in the Norwegian youth culture. On UFFA we find the antithesis of indifference.

This project is ongoing and more from UFFA will come.
