Pocket Art
This is a collaboration between a father and his four-year-old son. We work independently from each other. My son always gets first crack at the blank canvas -- he's inspired by cartography, constellations and cars. When he completes a drawing or a painting, he frequently would fold his art into many squares and stuff it in his pocket for safekeeping. Much of this work was then forgotten or destroyed in the washing machine. So I started to photograph his drawings as a way to catalogue his evolving creativity. The artwork gained another layer when I introduced some digital Franz Kline brush strokes into the mix.
