March 8th International women´s Day feminist strike was called in Spain by the different organizations that shape the core of the feminism movement in the country. No work, no shop, no family care. "If we stop, the world stops" is the slogan they are using, paying tribute to the very successful 1975 Iceland women strike, that was followed by 9 in 10 women. Main claims are equal pay -as Spain pays a 25% less to their women-, and equal rights and opportunities. Vital services such as education or sanity have been paralized during the day, and demonstrations have been called in a majority of cities across Spain.
In Valencia, women in the demonstration front used a hijab to emphasize on the inclusion of the muslim women in the claims for equal pay, equal of rights and equal opportunities.
