DEPRESSIVE NIGHTS
During the night shift two members of the Civil Protection go to the ambulance .
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Civil Protection has been reinforcing the health personnel on the health systems set up.
Its members, almost all of whom are volunteers, are trained in first-aid procedures, taking vital signs: pulse, blood pressure, respiratory frequency and amplitude, temperature.
They can also oxygenate the victims with masks and stretcher them if a transfer to hospital is necessary. However, they do not have the equipment to intubate and ventilate patients. For the most serious cases, respiratory distress, it is a doctor who must intervene.
