Varanasi is a very popular destination for Hindu pilgrims and a tourist attraction. It is also known as Kasi. A lot of people come here to burn their dead and perform last rites as it’s believed that one attains Nirvana here. The ghats that overlook the Ganges are a popular tourist attraction that is full of life. There are elaborate prayers held at dawn and dusk every day that see a huge gathering of devotees and tourists. Some also bathe or take a dip in the river to only to offer their prayers but to also ash off their sins as the Ganges is considered to be holy
