I am a photographer, writer, and filmmaker who creates projects that explore the human condition. I am interested in bonds between people and place, the existential weight of history and memory, and the joys, sadness, and mysteries of everyday life.
I studied journalism and geography at the University of Cincinnati and then worked as an independent editorial researcher for Smithsonian Magazine, National Geographic Digital Media, and others for several years before attending graduate school. I completed all courses in the M.A. Photography program at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication and am currently researching my Thesis project.
My nonfiction photography, writing and video have been published or highlighted by Soul of Athens, Fly Over Media, Cause Beautiful, Aint-Bad Magazine, and Visura Community. "Once The Ground Thaws," a narrative fiction film for which I served as co-writer and co-director, was completed in 2017 and has screened at Louisville International Festival of Film.
