Rosem Morton, born and raised in the Philippines, is a documentary photographer and nurse based in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a National Geographic Explorer, an International Women's Media Foundation Fellow and a We, Women Photo Artist. Her storytelling focuses on everyday life amidst gender, health, and racial adversity. Her work has been recognized by the Pictures of the Year International, the World Press Photo 6x6 Global Talent and Visa pour I’image.

With the support of the National Geographic Society, Rosem chronicled her journey as a nurse during the pandemic and was a finalist for the 2020 Pictures of the Year International for COVID-19 expression. She expands this work with NGS as she explores the Filipino nursing diaspora, connecting the missing stories of the past with the present.


Rosem is also a survivor and utilizes photography to share her own experiences. Her project, Wildflower, received the 2020 Visa d’or Award at Visa pour I’image. She furthers her advocacy through Dear Survivor, a multi-faceted community engagement project supporting survivors and allies.

Rosem's work appears in The New York Times, National Geographic, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, NPR and CNN, among others. She lectures at events, conferences and universities and has her work exhibited both nationally and internationally.
