OSTROV is a French artist based in Barcelona.
Her book MA PETITE CHERIE has been shortlisted for the Anamorphosis Prize 2016 and is into the permanent collection of the MoMA Library.
She graduated in fine arts from L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux and the Sorbonne University in Paris, where her major was painting and performance. She has lived and worked several years in different countries over the world (Mexico, Iceland, Japan, USA, Cyprus, Russia.) In 2011, she moved to the United States where she started to work as a performer artist and freelance photographer for magazines and international newspapers.
Now she’s based in Barcelona and works mostly in analog photography on 35mm film. Her life affects her work and the result is visceral, emotional and sometimes destructive. Ostrov shoots her relationship stories through an authentic and raw style by creating extreme and often disturbing psychologycal situations. She often uses herself organically in some masochistic mascarades to explore issues of love and torture. Her work appeared in The New York Times, The Archive Collective Magazine, Blasfemia Magazine, Japan Foundation, Times Out...
