Visura Scholarship for Career Development 2017

A series of grants to support individual Visura members in furthering their career. Visura announces a $600 scholarship to sponsor the workshop fee for one working journalist, freelancer, photographer or video journalist to attend a two-day intensive workshop with James Estrin, the co-editor of the New York Times Lens blog, and Mary Virginia Swanson, Sarah Leen and Whitney Richardson in New York City. The participant will learn to select, sequence and publish visual stories with some of the key leaders of the industry.

**NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.** Open only to individuals who are Visura Annual Members with a PLUS, PRIME, or GUILD annual membership, have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction at the time of entry, and DO NOT RESIDE WHERE PROHIBITED. Employees of Foto Visura Inc., and related parties are ineligible. Each entry consists of a project entry form, a series of photographs or videos, a project summary, and a first-person narrative related to the project. Entries must be received by May 11, 2017 at 11:59pm. The winner will be announced by May 20, 2017 via newsletter. He or she will receive a sponsored invitation to attend the workshop. One entry allowed per person. This is a merit-based contest and chance plays no part in the determination of winners. Odds of winning depend on a number of entries received and skill of entrant.
