In the magical and mystical region of Los Tuxtlas, in Veracruz, Mexico, there is an inclusive celebration known as "Huapango", which is surrounded by music, where sometimes there’s mystery and syncretisms involved. Everything take place between mountains, cobbled roads, coils and the dense jungle.

The traditional music of the southern veracruz Is linked to religion due to people that look through rituals as a way to link the community with these spiritual part. The saints, are like any other society member, and celebrate them with this festival called "huapango" or "fandango", which before the modernity arrival, was the only entertainment available. This was many moons ago.

Through this ongoing project, I am looking to show the sensory aspect or the feeling that surrounds this music. The syncretisms that exist, but also the daily life of these rural places, which still have their strong roots.

I’m still getting into the notes of this music; the same music that comes from the soul, that is sincere, that comes from centuries and in the end, I’m rediscovering more mysteries that surround her, and just a little bit more of my identity from this magical place: “Los Tuxtlas”.
