Maïa is the former photo & multimedia editor for The New Republic magazine and a visual journalist. There, she collaborated with award-winning photographers and conceptualized and worked on a variety of shoots. Currently, she is working as a Multimedia Editor with Greenpeace International and also pursuing freelance work.
She's worked as a photo editor for Discovery Communications (Discovery and the Health Channel), and The Travel Channel, and has previously freelanced and interned for several other journalism outlets and organizations like France2 TV, AFP, and Voice of America.Having lived in France, Kenya, Colombia, Cuba, the U.S. and Zimbabwe, she moved to New York to pursue an M.S. at Columbia Journalism School, focusing on photography and visual journalism.
