Petra Lajdová offers a modern view of this precious Slovak cultural heritage to today's generations with amazing discover and very interesting links and metaphor with other world symbols and cultures. She preserves and communicates the heritage of past generations with great respect.

First modern art photography (2012-2014) of the beauty and artistry of Slovak traditional costumes, specifically headpieces and the upper parts. Art work presents esthetics and beauty through art photography, finding alink with symbols and cultures all over the world in modern, original and respectful way.

Slovak Renaissance is a celebration of the art of Slovak ancestors.  The multi-colored character of these parts of Slovak folk costumes has its origins in Slovakia's wealth of natural beauty "“ it's diverse terrain, mountains, valleys, green lowlands, wide meadows, rolling hills, mountain pools and lakes. In addition, the costumers' richness emerges from the ethnically, socially and religiously diverse character of the country.  All of this is reflected in their colourful patterns and the richly or simply decorated headpieces. Petra Lajdová sees these decorative patterns as a reflection of respect, honor and humility in the face of nature, and of the beauty of women, their dignity and strength.

Collection comprises 20 photographs "“ introductory pieces and selection of 19 types of head-wears from over 350 (10 headpieces of married women and 9 of unmarried women), which honor aesthetics, grace and artistic value of Slovak folk art. It represents the wedding ceremony headdresses of the traditional female dress.

The folk costumes are originals from the various regions of Slovakia, and several of them are artistic pieces preserved in the Lúānica, National Slovak Folk Dance Ensemble, artistic workshop of Å arlota KiÅ¡ová. Some are 200 years old. Black and white photo documentation of "āepāenie", the wedding ritual of taking off the wedding veil and donning the headdress worn by married women shows a complicated arrangement of the head, which is highly demanding for women who still master this art.
