Jarod Lew graduated from Michigan State University in 2009 with a BFA in studio art with a concentration in graphic design. After leaving Michigan State University he was hired as a portrait photographer at a local studio. After leaving the studio in 2013 he ventured out on his own, creating long term personal projects. In 2014, Lew was selected to exhibit a portrait from one of his projects at the Center for Fine Art Photography curated by Amy Arbus. In 2015 he was selected to show one of his portraits at the National Portrait Gallery Competition at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C.
