Anja Niedringhaus said it best when describing her approach to photojournalism: “I do my job simply to report people’s courage with my camera and with my heart.”

Celebrating Anja's legacy, this award recognizes women photojournalists whose work compels us to take action and better understand the world. The winner will be honored at our annual award ceremony and will receive a $20,000 cash prize.

There is no minimum level of experience needed to apply, nor is working in a dangerous environment a requirement. If you are dedicated to journalism and passionate about your portfolio, apply!

Applications are now open, so nominate yourself or another journalist today! Entries will be accepted in English, French, Chinese and Spanish.
