Jessie Boylan is a photomedia artist, freelance photographer and community radio producer living in Melbourne, Australia.

In her work, Jessie explores issues of the human impact on the land, displacement, post-colonialism, conflict, trauma and violence.

Since 2005 Jessie has been developing a body of work dealing with the legacy of the British Atomic Tests of the 50s and 60s that occurred in South and Western Australia- as well as the present day impact of uranium and nuclear developments in Australia.

She produces a weekly half hour radio segment for 3CR 855am called ‘The Radioactive Show – which covers nuclear, peace and sustainability issues and prioritises indigenous voices from remote communities in Australia. Occasionally Jessie also produces short news-radio segments for US based Radio Station Free Speech Radio News.

In 2009 and 2010 Jessie worked as a journalist for the Inter Press Service Africa and Asia-Pacific divisions covering issues such as development, health, mining, agriculture, water and migration.

Jessie does multimedia work for the Mineral Policy Institute, who look at the social and environmental impacts of mining in Australia and the Pacific.

Jessie is currently represented by Obscura Photos.
