Over the course of a year in 2011, I produced a dozen photo essays on subjects ranging from ranchers in eastern Oregon and Community Supported Fisheries in North Carolina to urban food security programs in Washington DC and how cultural heritage is being maintained through traditional agriculture on the Hopi and Navajo reservations in Arizona.

In 2012, the American Library Association named "Reclaiming Our Food: How the Grassroots Movement is changing the way we eat" -- a survey of the most innovative food-focused community-based programs across the U.S. -- one of the top 10 books on the Environment.
