Ana Laura and Gustavo were deported from Chicago and Washington to Mexico City. They lived illegally in the United States for more than 15 years. Their children are still living in the U.S.

Ana Laura founded a project helping other deported Mexicans to restart their lives in Mexico City. First contact with fellow migrants is typically established at the airport where a special flight from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) arrives every week at the same time with Mexican deportees.

Commissioned work for Swiss weekly Neue Zürcher Zeitung am Sonntag (NZZ).
