Ksenia Ivanova

       Ksenia Ivanova is a documentary photographer from Russia, based in Saint-Petersburg. Her projects were published in 6Mois, Der Spiegel, The Washington Post etc. Ksenia collaborates with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, The Washington Post, GEO France etc. For the last 6 years, she has been working with the charity Russian magazine Takie Dela and documenting numerous stories on social issues.

Ksenia’s work is mainly focused on violence and trauma. She prefers to delve deeply into topics, to build trusting relationships with characters and to work on long-term projects. For three years she worked on a story about one of the leading oncology surgeons in Russia, who himself was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and lost his battle with the disease in 2020. In her current project, she studies the post-war trauma in the unrecognized state of Abkhazia.

She is the recipient of Leica Grand Prix at the Young Photographers of Russia competition, The Picture of the Year Asia (3rd place), 30 Under 30 Women Photographers, College Photographer of the Year (Award of Excellence), Vilnius Photo Circle (Winner) among others.
