Ruwan Hamdy (born in 1995) is an architect and a self-taught visual artist based in Alexandria, Egypt. She works mainly with photography as a medium and curious about the intersection of art and Architecture through public spaces and temporary installations and how to experiment with photography through them. Got her BA on Architectural Engineering from Alexandria University 2019, Enrolled in a Photography Mentorship Program in Alexandria where she developed her first holistic photography project and Got into An Art residency/Exchange Program with Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Initiative (DEDI) between Egypt and Denmark where she’s Currently Developing a project Experimenting with photography and Installation She Got featured in Biennale Venice, Egyptian Pavilion ,2021, A Collective Exhibition “Oblivious to me”, Alexandria, 2021, Augmented Reality Mural in Collaboration With AL Athar Lina Initiative, Cairo, 2021 and Collective Exhibition “Have you Seen Alexandria”, Alexandria, 2019.
