Â

Danielle van der Schans.

Freelance photographer from the Netherlands/ Rotterdam

Started working as an teacher and Artist in 1998 after completing the Art Academy in Rotterdam, teacher of Arts. After teaching art for 6 years i followed my passion, and went back to the Art academy, direction Photography. Now I'm working as an professional photographer since 2008. In my work I try to find balance between my curiousosity, passion for travel, people and silence. It could be landscapes, it could be people, but most of al I'm trying to capture the silence within what I see in my photography.

In my new work I'm working with the silence and landscape, the landscapes are exchangeable. You think that you 'see' a landscape but you recognise an other one. So it could be that you recognise a dutch landscapes, but the actual picture is taken in India. I like to play with the thought that just as in the virtual world the borders are disappearing it also feels like it could happen in the real world. But in the real world the borders are stil very clear.Â
