'Rechte Raumnahme Stoppen'-Demonstration and Protest in Halle {Saale), Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Omas Gegen Rechts cool off with temperartures in the early 30‘s while participating in a protest in the Markplatz at Halle (Saale), Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Against far right conspiracy theorists over the Corona Virus. Some background to the protest from Halle Gegen Rechts Web Page; For more than three months now, the following scenario has been unfolding on the market square in Halle: First, the city-famous neo-Nazi Sven Liebich holds a rally ostensibly against measures to contain the Corona pandemic. In fact, however, Liebich uses the events to insult people he sees as political opponents, to spread lies about the Corona pandemic, to repeat racist, anti-Semitic and extreme right-wing tirades over and over again, and, quite incidentally, to advertise that his followers should buy his products after all. Afterwards, there is a regular rally of anti-vaccination activists, esoterics and extreme rightists. Here the right-wingers around Sven Liebich also feel comfortable and stay. They regularly harass and mob journalists, observers and passers-by, press charges against them, try to obstruct reporting and intimidate people who are committed to democracy. Most recently, a woman identified as a Jew by a supporter of Liebisch was harassed on the fringes of the rallies.
The market place in Halle - the central square in the middle of the city - has been a place of fear for weeks for all people who are threatened and insulted by the right-wing extremist Liebich and his followers. We can no longer accept this!
Liebich has been active in the neo-Nazi scene in Halle since the 1990s. He was part of the internationally active neo-Nazi network "Blood and Honour" and a leading figure in the Halle neo-Nazi scene. Together with Thomas Richter he published the "National Observer Halle". Richter was attributed to the environment of the so-called "National Socialist Underground (NSU)". Liebich acted as managing director of the company "Shirtzshop", which officially belongs to his sister, and which produced not only harmless motifs but also anti-Semitic and racist motifs - a business model Liebich was already familiar with from the 1990s. Today, he sells his T-shirts with extreme right-wing prints via "political stickers".
Since 2014, Liebich has held hundreds of rallies in Halle, where people have been insulted, attacked and scorned. Again and again, the people and events in Halle have been the target of his agitation for democracy and human rights.
