A few days before the quarantine and the total isolation in Guayaquil, my mother had a ruptured fistula, an abnormal connection between two parts of the body. In this case, the artery and vein have been surgically joined to perform hemodialysis, the treatment for chronic kidney failure that has kept her alive for 5 years. Prior to this emergency from which he recovered, my father had a thrombosis, half of his body was disconnected from his brain, leaving paralysis and loss of sensation on his entire right side.

During these last years I accompanied and sustained the crisis of my parents caused by the alterations of his health. This situation has affected to some extent the bonds and our most intimate family dynamics. With the current panorama that forces us to demarcate physical limits, within the limits, these invisible lines are blurred in pursuit of the care of the other.

In this diary, I photographs as an exercise where the affective and the vulnerable continually overlap. This collaborative space between my parents and me has led us to create new forms of coexistence, revalue time and reconstruct the bond of the most intimate affections, the memories we have and those that we lack to live.
