The Darryl Chappell Foundation, a Washington, DC headquartered private nonprofit, is partnering with the Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) and the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art (MoCADA) to distribute $25,000 in grants of $1,000 emergency cash payments to 25 active artists of African descent.
The Dorothy A. Chappell Emergency Response Grant is the Foundation’s official response to the Covid-19 Pandemic and resulting financial crisis being experienced by many artists in the Foundation’s footprint region, including New York City.
The Darryl Chappell Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on enabling aspiring artists of African descent to achieve their highest potential. Read more about how the Foundation is supporting artists: darrylchappellfoundation.org.
In partnership with the Darryl Chappell Foundation, the BDC provides a one-time grant of $1,000 financial assistance to 10 selected artists: After an overwhelming response of 100+ applicants, we have looked through each application and will be awarding the grants to the following artists:
